Mark Moberg In July of 1994 Mark formed
Leading Edge Aviation Services Inc. Leading Edge
Aviation Services is a full service aviation
support center at Tampa Executive Airport (VDF)
in Tampa Florida. This venture led to the
creation of several other affiliated companies
over the past seventeen years, that are now part
of the Leading Edge Family of Companies.
The
Leading Edge Family of companies are a diverse
group, covering the marine industry to executive
protection and security. Mark has been active in
the aviation industry for over 30 years. His
professional associations include; President of
the Florida Aviation Trades Association from
1992 to 2002, the National Air Transportation
Association where he has served on the Airports
sub-committee, and Mark is an active member of
both AOPA and EAA.
David Moberg,
has enjoyed a lifelong passion for aviation.
His early love of space exploration and NASA led to
aviation studies and ultimately a degree in Aviation
Maintenance and Technology Management. This evolved
into his role with Lockheed Martin as project
coordinator, engaged in multiple efforts including
Air Force One and NASA’s development of the 757
zero-gravity platform. In 1994, he joined his
brother
Mark ,struck out on their own, beginning Leading Edge
Aviation Services at Tampa Executive Airport.
Under their direction numerous expansions to the
operation have occurred, including development of a
state-of-the-art FBO facility, the addition of a
second runway including ILS, and the addition of
significantly more storage and maintenance hangar
space.
In 2001, David initiated Leading Edge’s first Cirrus
Service Center and in 2007 collaborated with Cirrus
to develop the first Cirrus Factory Certified Sales
Center. David has flown the very first Cirrus models
(with no PFD!) all the way through the most recent
versions which incorporate the Garmin Perspective
system.
His relationship with Cirrus has afforded
David the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge
regarding Cirrus, while striving to learn more every
day. David is a FAA licensed A&P mechanic and a
Multi-Engine rated pilot with over 3,000 flight
hours.
Jeff Ellston, Director of Sales Administration. Jeff
has been professionally involved in aviation for
over 35 years.
A certified pilot since 1976, Jeff’s wealth of
practical knowledge provides a resource that his
many Cirrus customers have learned to rely on. Prior
to joining Leading Edge in early 2008, Jeff had been
President of the Florida Aviation Trades Association
and carries over 26 years of FBO management
experience in his quiver.
Jeff’s background and common sense approach have
proven valuable to the 50+ Cirrus sales customers he
has worked with in his time with Leading Edge.
Jeff’s extensive background provides a solid
foundation for the sales administration and contract
management capabilities the Leading Edge Team offers
all its customers.
Steve Miller, Director of Aviation Maintenance.
FAA certified A&P with Inspection Authorization,
Steve has specialized in Cirrus aircraft since 2001.
A few of the certifications he has received include
Cirrus A/C installation and service, CAPs system
Overhaul, PPG Certification in Paint Refinishing,
Composite Repair, Avidyne Certification and Garmin
Line Maintenance Certification.
Steve enjoys and practices precise troubleshooting
methods that allow accurate and cost effective
problem resolutions. He has an extensive knowledge
of the full line of Cirrus Aircraft that give he and
his team a keen advantage. His solid practical
experience, strong team management skills and an
intense drive to excel provide a GA service
experience like no other.
